Deadwood Marshal Badge

This is a known example of an authentic badge for the position of Marshal in Deadwood, South Dakota. This is the type of badge that Seth Bullock, in the HBO series, Deadwood, may have worn, during the early years of the gold boom in the Black Hills.

Gunfighter and Lead-Hand Members.
We trail out of Calgary, Canada, and perform mostly in the old Northwest Territories (Alberta, and Saskatchewan) of Canada. So you would either live in Calgary or plan on visiting here. If you're good - we'll make fine use of you and your talents. If you wish to perform with the Silver Spur Gunfighters, these general guidelines should be kept in mind.

You must be in possession of a valid PAL or FAC Permit. They must comply with all city, province/state, and federal laws regarding ownership, transportation and storage of firearms.

You will be supplied with a load sheet that will give you specific black powder loads for different situations and caliber firearms. You must be cleared to shoot by our Master-at-Arms. Load tests will be done on your blanks to make sure they are within our safety guidelines. No exceptions

All firearms used in shows must be period authentic, either original or a high quality replica. All firearms must be single action.

No Blue Denim of any shade. Old West Cowboys never wore blue denim pants - that's what farmers wore. And if you wanted to get shot in a hurry just ask a cowboy if he was a farmer. . . .

Cowboy Boots are a must for the Gents, and lace up boots (period correct) for the Ladies. No modern day ropers, construction boots or the such. Town Shoes are fine - if they are period correct and match the rest of your outfit.

All exterior garment labels must be removed, no zippers, velcro, or other modern advances can be seen.

The client or the Old West skit we are doing will determine the size of the part you will be asked to play. All performers will be assigned their part, in the marshalling area before every show.

When in attendance at a show site or on Silver Spur Business, you will dress period correct (1860- 1905) and act professionally at all times. This may be a hobby, but we run it like a business.

Don't expect to get rich from this, unless it's from the new friends and comradely you'll experience as a Silver Spur Gunfighter.

We reserve the right to change or amend these conditions with no further notice.
